IHSC Telephone Sign-up Policy

In order to accommodate our members who are not able to gain access to Lucent Technologies buildings, the telephone sign-up policy has been adopted. This policy is designed to provide equal access to all IHSC members.

Initial trip sign-ups will take place during a one-hour period which is published in the trip announcement. A single telephone number will be used during this time. Beginning at the published time, the trip leader will accept telephone calls. The order in which people get through determines their position on the trip roster. Once signed up, a person has five business days to get the initial deposit and signed release form(s) to the trip leader. If the deposit and release form(s) are not received within this time, the person is removed from the roster and placed on the unpaid waiting list. The trip leader will acknowledge receipt of the deposit via e-mail if possible, or a return telephone call if e-mail is not possible.

Please note that a person must speak to the trip leader in order to complete the sign-up. The trip leader will confirm that the person is on the roster. Any message left on the telephone answering system (such as Audix) will not be a valid sign-up.

Release forms are available prior to the sign-up from the trip leader, the IHSC secretary, the IHSC trip schedule packet, and (of course) this IHSC web site. A release form must be signed for each trip. Forms will also be available from the IHSC officers.
